Discovery Scientist

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more discovery projects aimed at developing, characterizing and optimizing new therapeutic substances.
  • Develop, validate and implement new potency bioassay and characterization tests related to the evaluation of new exosome or matrisome-based products.
  • Design experiments based on regulatory requirements and write study plans before performing the experiments in collaboration with operators.
  • Be responsible for the review of the data, analysis and interpretation of test results and projects for which he/she is in charge.
  • Manage the discovery activities conducted by Novadip Biosciences in collaboration with external partners (Contract research organizations and academic institutions).
  • Communicate the project progress and results to the discovery team and other members of the company.
  • Ensure regular reporting of progresses to the Head of Discovery.
  • Train and supervise trainees and technicians.
  • Keep high quality record and documentation of experiments aligned with Novadip data integrity policies.
  • Participate in technology transfers to production platforms, MSaT and QC.
  • Deliver reports ensuring timely completion and high-quality documentation.

Profile

  • Master or PhD with min 2 years in Biotechnology / Biomedical science or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 year’s in drug development research in cell therapy sector within academic or Biotech/pharma environment
  • Hands on experience in the development of analytical methods and potency bioassays.
  • Strong collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
  • Flexible, concerned about the quality of work and respectful of planning.
  • Excellent general problem solving and project management skills, with a proven ability to oversee operational aspects.
  • Rigorous, well-organized, meticulous and conscientious person with excellent teamwork spirit and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, and ideally also in French.
